Shelf Pre-School is run by a management committee, which has responsibility for the general running of the Pre-School and for staff.  The Pre-School is organised on a day-to-day basis by the Supervisor, who reports and liaises with the Committee.  All Pre-School policies are documented and copies are available upon request at the above premises.

All recommendations in the new Children’s Act are adhered to, and the Pre-School adopts an open policy.  Parents are welcome at any time; their presence, suggestions and help are most appreciated.  Any complaints should be written, signed and addressed to the Committee at the address at the front of this booklet.  It will then be given due consideration and responded to in writing.  Should you have any complaints that you feel cannot be resolved with the staff please contact OFSTED directly on 0845 6404040 who will advise you of the full complaints procedure.

The purchase of new equipment, the repairing of old equipment, purchasing materials, Christmas parties, trips and special events for the children all have to be met by funds raised by the Committee.  We hold a number of fund-raising events throughout the year, which we hope you will support.  The Committee is therefore very important – without it the Pre-School would cease to function.  It is both a management and a fund raising Committee.  New Committee members are required each year:  We would hope you will consider this involvement.
